Rev.'s Nancy and Bill Worth
Rev. Nancy Worth, Sr. Minister- Profile
Spiritual Objective: To create a dynamic ministry of love and transformation where each person can unfold to deeper awareness of his or her innate wholeness and Christ perfection. To realize oneness with God through knowing and living the Truth taught by Jesus Christ, Unity, and other great world religions.
Background: Rev. Nancy Worth has been the Sr. Minister of Unity North since March of 2005. Prior to that, she and her husband Bill were the Co-Ministers at Unity Church of Austin, TX. Formerly, they were founding co-ministers at Unity Church in Christ, Tallahassee, FL. Rev. Nancy was the Senior Minister at Unity of Tallahassee, Tallahassee, FL. in the early 1990's. Rev. Nancy started her career in theater and dance upon graduation from NYU. She has been a professional dancer in on and off Broadway productions. She has worked as a Manager for the New York Times and Universal Press Syndicates and she and her husband, Bill have owned and operated a weekly newspaper and graphic arts company in Hawaii. Prior to entering Unity's ministerial school in 1989, Nancy was a Campaign Assistant for the Maui Community Arts & Cultural Center. Her role there was to assist in raising $31 million for a capital campaign.
Rev. Nancy summarizes her core teachings as this: The
Kingdom of Heaven is a here-and-now present experience. We
don’t have to wait to experience it. We can anchor
Heaven here on earth through what we think and how we act.
As we learn to open our hearts and to love one another – truly
love and honor one another – we will begin to live
in that Kingdom of Love that Jesus and all the great spiritual
leaders have taught us about. I draw from many of the world
Scriptures. Jesus is my main source and teacher, but not
the only one. I quote from many of the sacred Scriptures
when appropriate – I believe there is One Presence,
but many paths. I also compare and show where spiritual Truth
is spiritual Truth – not just in Unity or the Bible,
but also in all world religions – we really all teach
the same thing. I do teach Fillmore since we are Unity. Most
of the classes I teach are the required classes for Personal
Growth from Unity Village. My favorite classes are prayer,
metaphysics, and prosperity. I am open to other people
teaching other classes and I will teach other classes if
so moved to do so. For example, I facilitate a workshop on “Discovering
Your Passion, Purpose and Gifts. I
also pull in material from current authors and teachers,
such as Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Aman Motwane, and Alan
Cohen. We are here to become all we were created to be. There
is an incredible potential within ALL of us, not just in
some of us. I love to help people tap that potential and
to watch people blossom. The greatest gift is to see people
wake up to their Divinity and I love being a part of the
transformation process watching each person growing into
becoming all they were created to be. Prayer is vital – we
can’t accomplish great things if we don’t take
time out of our busyness to
sit quietly in prayer and connect to the Source of all our
good. Spiritual community is very important to me. I believe
that as we grow and transform, we help each other to do the
same. And there is a group soul that is created when we come
together in sacred community. And a saying I believe truly
describes what Unity is all about is: Spiritual, not Religious.”
